Samian
Samian is an internationally-known rap artist, whose childhood on a First-Nation’s reserve in Quebec informs much of his work. Speaking up for First-Nations’ rights through his music, Samian has raised awareness about issues in Canada’s Aboriginal communities through his broad fan-base.
Today, he helps manage Wapikoni Mobile, a mobile music and film studio that brings multimedia tools to First-Nations’ reserves across Quebec and Labrador. Giving Aboriginal youth the opportunity to express themselves artistically is vital, Samian tells us, to the health of their communities. |
