The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre educates people of all ages and backgrounds on the Holocaust, while sensitizing the public to the universal perils of racism, hatred, and indifference. The Centre is committed to promoting respect for diversity and the sanctity of all human life, as well as the individual and collective responsibility of all to take action against current atrocities. We must interpret the failed commitment of "Never again", pledged after World War II, as a duty to act and speak out. It is indeed difficult to remain silent with the unfortunate proliferation of human rights violations in the world.

The human rights work of the MHMC is carried out through workshops, the organization of public education events, and the development of partnerships with community organizations. Some of this programming is coordinated by the Centre’s Human Rights & Advocacy Committee, a group of young adult volunteers coming from a variety of cultural backgrounds who are passionate about human rights.
