Andréanne Pâquet and Imene El-Mohri
Ce qui nous voile is a photo project aimed at unlearning prejudices against women who wear the hidjab. Led by Andréanne Pâquet, anthropologist, and Éric Piché, photograp, fifty women were photographed, each of whom chooses to wear the hijab. With the help of Imène El-Mhori and the Amal Centre for Women, the photos were presented during the Action week Against Racism in March, 2011. The diversity of the women photographed, as well as the reasons they wear the veil, is a celebrated message of the photo series. The exhibition will be traveling in Montreal and around in the year 2012. |
