| Activities |
STAND McGill is a formal chapter of the national STAND Canada organization. We host political panels, conferences, peer-to-peer discussions and various lobbying activities in the Montreal area with the final goal of making the prevention of genocide and crimes against humanity a cornerstone in Canadian foreign policy. Our hope is that through our events, we can engage the local young population to raise awareness about critical human rights issues in the regions of Sudan, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Lastly, we organize fundraisers such as pub nights, concerts and open mic evenings where proceeds are sent to The Valentino Achack Deng Foundation - building schools in the recovering regions of South Sudan.
